Former Manchester United defender Gabriel Heinze has l anded a coaching job in the Major League Soccer (MLS) with Atlanta United.
Heinze’s appointment was confirmed this week. This follows his departure from Argentine club Velez Sarsfield where he was in charge for two seasons.

“This is a milestone moment in Atlanta United history,” said Atlanta president Darren Eales.
“Gabriel is one of the top coaches in South American soccer and we are delighted that he chose Atlanta United.”.

Heinze added: “I’m excited to be taking on this new challenge with Atlanta United.”
“I believe that my football philosophy is aligned with the vision of the club and their structure and facilities are world-class.”
The Argentine also featured for Real Madrid, PSG, Roma and Marseille.
