Legendary footballer, David Beckham has made his screen debut with a cameo appearance in the movie “King Arthur: Legend of the Sword.” The former Manchester and Real Madrid player, who is noted for his skills in free kicks on the green turf, played soldier Trigger sword pulling scene.

Former sports legends have found delight in other activities and we are definitely surprise Beckham has chosen acting. Although he did his best in the brief scene he appeared in, lots of movie critics and social media haves slammed for a poor performance.

For instance The Telegraph said in its review that Beckham “shows just about enough dramatic range to have played the stone the sword got stuck in,” adding that he had “sabotaged” the scene. “It’s a misguided, fist-biter of a performance,” Empire said in its own review.  Piers Morgan described him as acting like “the third Mitchell brother” on Good Morning Britain show.

Beckham is not perturbed about the negative reviews as he said, “I think people are going to love it. You know obviously with Guy’s movies you know what you’re going to get but there’s a few surprises, a bit of comedy along the way.”

‘King Arthur: Legend of the Sword’ is a 2017 fantasy movie directed by Guy Ritchie and written by Ritchie, Joby Harold, and Lionel Wigram.
