The deceased, Abu Bukari Gbaharah, was reported to have smashed the windscreen of a car belonging to the Manager of Nkoranman Rural bank.

Bukari was apprehended by the police and taken to the Seikwa Police Station where he was handcuffed to a pillar and allegedly maltreated by the police till he died.

According to reports, Bukari’s health failed him while being held in police custody and eventually, passed on.

However, the accused police officers restrained from their duty on the order of the Inspector General of Police, James Oppong Buannuh but the family seems not to be pleased with the punishment meted out to them.

In a one-on-one interview with JoyNews, the brother of the deceased,  Haruna Bukari Gbaharah said the family is grateful to the IGP for interdicting the said police officers but has appealed that they will be arrested and also the body of their deceased relative will be released to them for burial.
