Ghanaians have been left shocked following heartbreaking news of former President Jerry John Rawlings’ demise.
Rawlings, who ruled the West African country for 19 years, died on Thursday afternoon.
According to reports, he died of coronavirus, having been in intensive care at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital in Accra.
The news comes less than a month that he buried his mother. Photos and videos from the burial ceremony showed a strong and healthy Rawlings three weeks ago.
He is being mourned by Ghanaians.
