Former Blackstars midfield dynamo, Michael Essien has joined the list of celebrities supporting the legalization of LGBT rights in Ghana.

The conversation has been going back and forth in the media space with the members of the LGBT community seeking equal rights and access to everything in the country even though it seems impossible, they are still not giving up on the fight.

One of the advocates is the former Chelsea and Real Madrid man, Michael Essien who has added his voice to the situation advising the presidency to legalize the LGBT in the country. Taking to his Instagram page, he shared a photo saying Ghana supports equality therefore members of the LGBT community must be given equal rights.

His open support to the group may not change the fact that the president of the country, Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo Addo has ruled out same-sex marriage. He assured Ghanaians of this and that has revealed his stand on the subject.
