Wutah undoubtedly is one of the best music groups in the history of Ghanaian music. However for reasons best known to them, they parted company. Ghanaians clamoured for their reunion and indeed they listened to their fans and they are back.

Paa Kwesi of Dobble fame thinks the reunion won’t be significant. The Highlife musician who has also split from his singing partner Ennwai suggested it’s good to be a solo artiste.

Paa Kwesi has this to say about Wutah and his own group:

“Everybody was calling Wutah to come back, now that they are here, what’s happening? What are Ghanaians doing about it? They kept screaming their comeback, now they are here; are people yearning to see and craving for Wutah? No. I’m praying for them that it becomes a successful one that when they came, Ghanaians accepted them and Wutah has again become a household name and not the other way round.

For now it’s just me and the new brand and what I’m trying to achieve as a highlife artiste. I love what I’m doing now and I think both of us are trying to push ourselves there ever since we had the split. And so far, it has been so good in less than a year. I love the fact that, even where I am now, there’s not much pressure and I’m trying as much as possible to be part of history; those who pushed it to that level when people thought it was dying. But I can’t say yes or no as to our comeback because it hasn’t happened and if it does happen, we will know what to do.

I know it hurts, Ghanaians will definitely call for a comeback but you need to make decisions for yourself. When I’m making people happy whilst am not, it doesn’t make sense. I need to be happy so it transcends to others.”
