The National Democratic Congress (NDC) (Petitioner) has finally filed their witness statement to the apex court for consideration to battle their case.

The petitioner files witness statement, claiming they ought to have been a runoff because hypothetically giving all Techiman South votes to the petitioner, per their calculation, should result in no candidate winning by over 50% as required

The NDC in a recall filed a petition to the Supreme Court over some alleged irregularities that took place during the 2020 election.

As permitted by the constitution, a political party has 21 days after election to submit a petition to the court if they have issues.

During their election petition submission, the NDC seek for nullification of electoral result announced by the returning officer of the Electoral Commission.

However, in their witness file, the petitioner claims there were result frauds making it impossible for the 2nd respondent to have more than 50% votes to be declared the winner.

The Supreme Court is et to decide on the witness file in the next seating.
