British star Ed Sheeran, who expressed interest in collaborating with FUSE ODG and R2bees last year, has settled the lawsuit with two songwriters who claim his hit song “Photograph” was derived from their work.

The song was recorded by the singer in 2015 for his second studio album. Sheeran reportedly wrote the song with Snow Patrol and Johnny McDaid. However it emerged that the he ‘stole’ the song from X Factor winner Matt Cardle, whose version is called Amazing.

Amazing was released in 2010 and was written by Martin Harrington and Thomas Leonard.

The pair were seeking at least $20 million in damages in a copyright infringement lawsuit after claiming that their song “Amazing” was copied “verbatim, note-for-note.”

The case was reportedly dismissed with prejudice but noted that a California federal court would be able to enforce the terms of an agreement.
