Caffeine can be derived from stimulant foods or beverages like coffee and tea. Caffeine when taken often causes many health hazards to the body. Here are some of the damaging effects of caffeine.

Caffeine increases energy in the body by raising blood sugar levels and may later produce letdown and this causes one to behave strangely or harshly.

Stomach problems – One taking caffeinated drinks as a habit means that more acid is produced in the stomach that also causes ulcers and other problems.

Calcium and iron absorption in the body is disturbed by caffeine presence and may cause diseases like anaemia and osteoporosis (bone problem).

Caffeinated drinks and beverages can cause stomach irritations. The addictive primarily causes this effect, but the caffeine itself has constricting effects on blood vessels. This also can interfere with digestion and cause other complications in the stomach.

The kidneys are irritated and forced to produce more urine, which is not normal.

Other side effects include addiction, anxiety, insomnia, tumors, nervousness, chronic fatigue, and lack of energy, stomach irritation, vomiting and many others.

NOTE : Even though caffeine has long term effects on the human body, it also has good effects and one of it is that, it can be used together with lemon juice to heal fever and for menstrual craps and pains. Prepare the coffee hot, add lemon juice and drink it warm or hot for relief.
