Soccer star Cristiano Ronaldo has confirmed that he has welcomed twin sons via a surrogate mother.

The Portuguese sportsman, who plays for Real Madrid, took to Facebook on Wednesday night (28Jun17) to share that he will not play in Sunday’s (02Jul17) Confederations Cup third place playoff as he will be visiting his newborn babies.

“I have been playing for the National Team, as always, in body and soul, even knowing that my two sons were born,” he said in a statement.

“The president of the FPF (Portuguese Football Association) and the National Team coach have been very supportive, and I will not forget their kindness. I am very happy to finally be able to be with my children for the first time.”

Local media reported earlier in June (17), that the 32-year-old had become a father again, though he did not comment on the claims.

Ronaldo, who is currently dating Spanish model Georgina Rodriguez, is already father to Cristiano Ronaldo Jr., who is now six years old. He was born to an unknown surrogate in San Diego, California in 2010.
