An unfortunate incident which occurred in Kumasi on June 1, Tuesday has it that a shop that offers financial service has been robbed by armed robbers.

According to reports, one of the workers in the shop identified as Collins Dapaah sustained severe injuries from gunshots.

According to one of the hostages, the bandits fired three shots into the roof as they de manded the money they had on them.

Charity Kambasiba said that one of them stood in front of the business while the other entered and attacked one of the customers. She also said that they were held hostage in one corner of the shop as they demand the money.

“We were attending to a customer when a fair tall man entered and held the customer. We thought they were about to fight. But it turned out to be a robbery. He then commanded everyone to lie down and he took all the money,” she narrated the incident amidst tears.

One of the employees, who had recognized the danger early, was able to get to the lavatory and ask for assistance from a neighbor, Collins Dapaah. She said that her voice was heard by the robbers but they were unable to find her hideout.

Collins who attempted to assist the hostages were shot at the entrance of the shop but fortunately, he did not die but suffered severe gun wounds.

The police have already commence investigation on the matter to bring the culprits to book.
