There is a serious pandemonium in Asamankese in the Easter Region of Ghana as some angry residents have mounted road blocks.

This comes after some military allegedly shot and killed a 33-year-old taxi driver who is identified as Yaw George.

Per what we gathered, the incident reportedly occurred on Monday, April 5, 2021, and these residents are seeking justice for the deceased.

The report, according to Starr FM, indicated that the overly angry residents also besieged the town’s police station over the incident.

The taxi driver reportedly met his untimely death while driving a taxi with registration number GR 3847-21 and escorting a truck transporting his lumber to a nearby town.

These military men were reportedly chasing the truck. During the chase, they shot through the back windshield of the taxi, killing the driver instantly.

An eyewitness who spoke with Starr FM said;

“They shot him in the head. They even abandoned him and were still pursuing the truck so it was the police officers who noticed the shooting incident and chased the military officers to report themselves to the Police.”

The incident has reportedly been confirmed by the Acting Public Relations Officer of the Eastern Regional Police Command, Sergeant Francis Gomado.
