Rapper Jay Z is probably on cloud nine right now. The Brooklyn native and husband of Beyonce is highly regarded as one of the best rappers of all-time. He has a staggering 21 Grammy Award to his name and has sold over 100 million records worldwide.

Ironically a cluster of people still doubt his credibility as a good rapper and often question his style and delivery but we believe a very true follower of hip hop know Jay Z has defined the hip hop genre is his own identity.

Report reaching us indicates the rapper has been inducted into the famed Songwriters Hall Of Fame today (February 22, 2017) , and thus becomes the first rapper to attain that feat.

Other musicians who received the recognition are Kenneth Edmonds popularly called Babyface, Jimmy Jam, Martin Max and Terry Lewis. The official induction however will take place on June 15, 2017.

Since he made his debut in 1996 with the album Reasonable Doubt, the 41-year old rapper has built an enviable brand punctuated by his incredible talent. This earned him the rare accolade, The Greatest MC Of All Time conferred on him by MTV base.

We believe with his wife expecting a set of twins in due time and their first daughter Blue Ivy growing in glory, Jay Z definitely has a lot to smile about this year.
